Biography

Zita graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with First Class Honours in Music followed by the Opera course at Birkbeck University, London. She continues to study privately and enjoys a busy schedule of recital, opera, choral and corporate engagements.

Operatic roles include Kate Pinkerton (Madam Butterfly), Spirit (Dido and Aeneas), Melisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Poppea (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Ilia (Idomeneo), Dew Fairy (Hansel and Gretel), Jessy (Mahagonny Songspiel), Celia (Iolanthe), Edith (The Pirates of Penzance) and Jou-Jou (The Merry Widow).  Other operatic engagements include small parts in Aida (Riverside Opera), La Bohème (OperaUpClose) and Speech & Dialect coach for New Zealand’s The Really Authentic Gilbert & Sullivan Performance Trust.

Zita has sung, recorded and toured with The Bach Choir, London.  Performance venues have included The Sydney Opera House, Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, Westminster Abbey, St. James’s Palace and the Dresden Frauenkirche.  Recordings include the World Premiere of Carl Rütti's Requiem, the Naxos release of Herbert Howells' Hymnus Paradisi and the soundtracks for Shrek the Third and Prince Caspian.
